Forrest has been a anxiously awaiting this day for the last two weeks. He explained to me today that he was going to get a lot of candy. He anxiously waited until it was time to go. When it seemed like a good time to go we headed off. After about the tenth house Forrest declared that he had enough candy and was ready to go home. He obviously takes after his dad. Eliza on the other hand would shove kids out of her way if they got to the door first. She wouldn't let me hold her bucket for fear I would steal something. She was also very quick and would manage to get several pieces of candy into her bucket before I would notice and try to stop her. Of course everyone thought she was so cute they didn't mind. We finally came home after one trip around the block, doing only one side of the street. The kids were happy so we headed in. This is when they really started to have some fun. Every time the door doorbell would ring they would run to the door and hand out handfuls of candy. When it seemed like we were out of candy, Forrest went and got his own candy to give away. All in all it was great Halloween. I can't wait until next year. I think Eliza is going to be our die hard trick-or-treater. She really takes after her mom.

A Little Present for Greg
October 22, 2007
Tonight as Greg was putting the kids to be Eliza gave Greg a very big surprise. Eliza was in Forrest room playing with some toys. Greg took off Eliza's diaper and then went into her bedroom and grabbed a new one. When he came back in he noticed that Eliza had a little poop on her bum. He thought that it was a little weird since she had only been wet, but being a guy he just got a wipe and cleaned her up. After Eliza was already for bed, Greg went into the bathroom to wash his hands. Eliza came up to him and handed him a piece of poop. Apparently she had squeezed one off before Greg had managed to re-diaper her and Eliza being the way she is was trying to clean up after herself.

Going to the dogs.
October 17, 2007
As a favor for our neighbors we take care of their two dogs whenever they go out of town. The last time they went out of town they accidentally locked the door from the garage to the house and Greg was unable to get in. He walked around the house and finally found a window that was open. He then popped out the screen and shimmied in. When the neighbors got home I was the one that had to explain why their screen was out and hoped that they would think we were just supper dedicated and not practicing our breaking and entering skills. This past weekend they once again asked us to take care of their dogs. This time they made sure the garage door was unlocked. On Sunday Greg let the dogs out in the morning and then went back over after church to let the dogs out one more time before the neighbors finally came home. As Greg walked into the house he couldn't find the dogs. He yelled for the dogs a couple of times and then went out on to the deck to see if they had somehow gotten outside. This is when our neighbor walked up behind Greg and said hello. This of course scared the daylights out of Greg. Our neighbors had gotten home early from their trip. When they heard the garage door open they just thought it was one of their kids leaving, that is until they heard Greg calling for the dogs. Once again we are hoping they think we are supper dedicated and not just weird.

Excuse Me!!
October 16, 2007
Last night on our way to Jacob's Birthday party Greg and I started to talk about going to Lagoon. We still have three tickets that we need to use by the end of October. So far all the Saturdays have been horrible weather. We were planning on going this Saturday, but it looks like it is going to rain and we don't have a babysitter. Greg mentioned that we could go next Saturday.
Me: We can't because you have the Snowmobile show that you said you would go to.
Greg: I don't need to go.
Me: Are you kidding me. I do not want to get the talk from The Parents.
Greg: What talk?
Me: The one where they tell me I should be nicer to you, and that I am so lucky that you were willing to marry me.
Greg: Why do they give you the talk.
Me: They are worried that I will be so mean that you will try to return me.
Greg: So you don't have a warranty or a return policy.
Me: That's right. And now I come with baggage.
Greg: And you are not in the same condition that I received you in.
Me: Excuse me.
Greg: I mean that you have baggage.
Me: WHAT!!!!
Greg: I just meant that you have kids.
Me: Ya, that's what you were saying (heavy with sarcasm)

I am Becoming Obsessed..
October 12, 2007
Things around our house of come to a screeching stop. I really need to clean, but I have become obsessed with planning our WDW vacation. It has become so bad that friends are starting to avoid my calls, because all I can talk about is WDW. Planning a trip to Disney World is like planning an invasion of a small country. The worst thing is that the best laid plans can be totally destroyed by two very small children. I have learned from our trip to California to have very, very low expectations and be pleasantly surprised when things work out. This is a lot like childbirth. After being in labor for 10 hours and having the doctor suggest that we needed a C-section Greg was not pleased. This was not going according to plan and he had heard how bad C-sections could be. On our second child we had very little expectations except we wanted a healthy baby. This really made things go a lot more smoothly. We were ready for everything and when nothing eventful happened we were pleasantly surprised. That is what we are counting on for this trip. We just want to get there and back with everyone in one piece. In the mean time if you see me walking around muttering to myself and twitching please ignore. I am sure it will all pass once we are home from our trip.

Do the Pickles live by us??
October 9, 2007
Yesterday on our way home from our Fire Station Open house we say one of our neighbors driving by us.
Forrest: Mom is that the Pickles..
Me: No Forrest that is the Bickles.
Forrest: That is what I said.
Me: Forrest try this. Buh Buh Buh Buh Bickles.
Forrest: Buh Buh Buh Buh Pickles.
Me: No, No, Buh Buh Buh Buh Bickles.
Forrest: Buh Buh Buh Buh Pickles.
We went on like this for several more times before he finally said it right. He used to do this with his speech therapist too. His speech therapist was named Hugh and Forrest always called him Cue. I was always trying to get him to say it the right way, but he never wavered.
