A week from tomorrow we are leaving. Strangely I am starting to get excited. The Disney bug must have bit me. However I am also getting very paranoid. I am considering only allowing Greg out for work and Forrest out for school. When they come home they must change all their clothes, scrub their hands with soap and everyone with have to drink Airborne every morning before they can leave again. I know a little paranoid, but I don't think I can do another vacation where everyone is sick again. Thursday, November 22, 2007

I am Going to Kill Him.
November 21, 2007
Last week Forrest came home from school without his jacket. He couldn't remember where he had left it. I called the school and we looked everywhere. It was nowhere to be found. The worst part was it was part of his snow jacket that I had just bought him. I figured I had yelled at him enough that he wouldn't do it again. Boy was I wrong. Yesterday Forrest came home from school complaining that it was really cold outside and I should have sent him to school with a jacket. This is when I went postal. I will spare you all the horrible details, but once again he left his jacket on the bus. I called mom to find out how, short of stapling the item to their body, she got her kids to remember to bring items home. After she stopped laughing and welcomed me to the club she told me to start shopping for his stuff at the DI. I am supposed to tell him that since he can't keep track of his stuff we have to buy stuff from the DI. I had to tell her that is more a punishment for me than Forrest, because he doesn't care what he wears. Hopefully I have put the fear of death in him, because at this rate I don't think he will make it to Christmas.

Our Weekend with the cousins.
November 19, 2007
As many of you all know I babysat my sister's kids while she was in the hospital this weekend. Here are some of my favorite moments from the weekend.
Me: Why are the front of your pants wet?
Nephew: (Gives me a blank stare.)
Me: Did you have an accident?
Nephew: (Seems to be considering all of his options) I am not going to answer that question.
Nephew: There is a hole in my turkey's head.
Me: How did that happen?
Nephew: That is where the arrow went threw to kill the turkey.
Of course my funnest times where watching Eliza and her cousin interact. They had a great time together. They would often imitate each other. It was all very cute. My favorite time of the day was when they would go down for a nap or bedtime.
They would both crawl into Forrest bed with their binikis and blankets. I would read them several stories and then they would go to sleep (in their own beds.) They were so cute together. They never minded doing anything as long as they were together. Encase you are wondering my nephew is laughing. I never could get a good picture that he didn't have his eyes all squished up.

The Suspense is Killing Me.
November 13, 2007
I received a call from my sister on Monday. Her doctor told her that she could have the baby at any minute. I will be the primary babysitter for her two boys so basically I am on call this entire week. Every time my cell phone rings I think it is her. It is even starting to affect Greg. While at work today he got a call from my sister's cell phone, but no one would answer. He had me call her just encase she was incapacitated and needed help and the only number she could find on her cell phone was Greg's. I thought it was a little far fetched, but at times like these you just never know. I am just glad I am not her husband. I am sure every time the phone rings his heart starts to race and he begins to wonder is this the beginning of the end.

I am Finally Done
November 11, 2007
At the start of the summer I made a list of all the places I wanted to take the kids. We were finally able to go to the last one. I even convinced my 9-month+++ sister to come with me. We ended up all driving down in my car. My two nephews wanted to drive with us so we just all piled in.
Once we got to the zoo we immediately rode on the train. As we were coming to a stop I noticed my nephew walking beside the train. I yelled at him so he immediately jumped back into the train and then waited until it came to a complete stop to get out. We then headed over to see the white alligator. I was really happy it was still here.
After that we wandered through the parking looking at the different animals. It was a lot of fun. Most of the animals were up and moving around and some were being fed.
Once my sister and I were too tired to go on we stopped at the playground to let the kids play. Eliza found a goose that she was letting bite her fingers. I finally gave her some pretzels to feed to the goose so she would quit putting her fingers in the gooses' mouth.
We finally rounded up all the kids and headed home. We of course hit rush hour traffic. Forrest was very alarmed and kept saying we would never get home and that we would die out here before we would ever move again. Lucky for him we were able to get home. It was a fun day, but it totally wore me out. I am surprised it didn't put my sister into labor. I guess she will just have to keep waiting.

Can Someone Explain This Please.
November 7, 2007
I just don't get it. I call them land mines. I am forever tripping over his shoes. I even bought a basket so everyone can put their shoes in the basket so they don't have to walk all the way to their room to put their shoes away. The kids have figured it out, but not Greg. I guess you really can't teach an old dog new tricks.

This Is A Sad Day
November 4, 2007
Today I was released from my primary calling. No longer can I spy on my kids to see how they are doing. No longer do I have a job that I like to do and know how to do it well. No longer am I serving with good friends. Now I am thrown out into the pool where I can receive any call. The fear of the unknown is what scares me the most. There are so many calls that I know I could be good at, but as everyone knows these are not the calls that you receive. Instead I will be placed someplace that will help me grow. Hopefully it is just not the scouts.

How To Earn Money
November 3, 2007
I had my nephews over last night for a sleepover. Before I put them to bed they started to ask me about what t.v. channels we had to watch for Saturday morning cartoons. I had to inform them the sad fact we didn't have some of their favorite channels. They were highly appalled. Preston suggested that I could buy all the Sponge Bob Square pants past Seasons plus the movie and then maybe I would have something interesting to watch at my house. Addison suggested that I could earn the money to buy these DVD's by cutting my fingernails and putting them under my pillow. The tooth fairy would think they were teeth and leave me money. I would be able to earn a lot money very quickly. I really need to try this the next time the mortgage is due.

Family Pictures
November 3, 2007
This week we finally decided to get a new family picture. Ours is hopelessly out of date. I arranged to have our pictures taken Thursday night. Starting on Monday I started to remind Greg that we have pictures on Thursday. On Wednesday night I pick out his shirt and tell him that this is what I want him to wear to work the next day so that if something comes up he can just meet us at Target for the pictures. Thursday morning comes. When I get home from my morning work out Greg is wearing his shirt I asked him too. He jokingly asks if I thought he had forgotten. I reassure him that I was pretty confident after my numerous reminders that he would not forget. Later that day I get a call from Greg asking me if I want to go to a Jazz game that night. I am a little amazed when once again I have to remind him we have pictures tonight. His response. "Oh, ya I thought we had something going on tonight." Moral of the story. Don't believe men when they say they will remember. They never do.
