Today was our third soccer game for Forrest. If you have never experienced a game with a bunch of five year olds you don't know what you are missing. The team consists of five kids. Out of those five kids you usually get one maybe two that know what the heck is going on the rest of them run around, bump into each and kick the ball into the opposing teams goal. Forrest favorite part of the game is to run. He just follows the pack around, but never really kicks the ball. Today he did get the ball and started to take it down the field and then the other team got it. He also scored a goal today. Unfortunately it was in the other teams goal. Everyone, however, got a good laugh when he started jumping up and down saying he scored a goal.
Here is Forrest getting around the blue team in an attempt to steal the ball.
Or just tackle the opposing team. Whatever works for him. (Forrest is the one with red shin guards on.)
Here Forrest is being tackled by one of his friends. At one point during the game they both stopped playing to have a little chat.
They swear this kid is five, but I am not believing it.
And this is how Forrest is throughout the whole game. Laughing and having a good time. We are lucky that we have a coach that gets Forrest and just lets him go out and have fun.

Five-year-old soccer is great. Forrest looks like he was having a great time. I'm guessing the games weren't terribly long. That is my kind of soccer - very few people aware of the score, if there is one; short games; plenty of snacks.
The games are only 30 minutes and we practice for 15 minutes before the game so we don't have practice during the week. We have really enjoyed it.
Yeah, that big kid is like 8!
